I try not to get involved in politics these days but am going to briefly break that rule and publicly support the re-election of our current Garland County Sheriff Mike McCormick. Sheriff McCormick has more than 30 years of experience not only in law enforcement, but more importantly years of experience in law enforcement leadership during challenging situations. During my time as County Judge, I appreciated Mike’s honest communication, willingness to consider all perspectives, and his willingness to work with me and the Quorum Court while always keeping the Sheriff’s Department his priority. Please join me in voting for Sheriff McCormick. These days experience is important.

I am asking my friends and the Garland County community to join me in supporting Sheriff Mike McCormick as he seeks re-election. Mike and Julie have made Garland County their home and are firmly rooted in our community. They care about the safety and the general wellbeing of Garland County citizens and our visitors. Sheriff McCormick has consistently demonstrated his commitment to professionalism, accountability, and the need to build relationships bringing people together for shared purposes.
